Worship Traditions
Holy Comforter has long been known for "pushing the envelope",
liturgically speaking. Our particular strength among Episcopal
churches in Richmond has been a willingness to experiment with
our forms of worshiping God:
Candles on the altar (gasp!) in long-ago days when the Diocese
of Virginia was a bastion of low-church evangelicalism.
Early enthusiasm for the Eucharistic-centered theology of the
1979 Book of Common Prayer.
A tradition of eclectic and inclusive music (choral and instrumental)
and liturgical movement.
Worship Services
Choral Eucharist @ 10am every
Sunday as usual. The best Liturgy in town.
Laying on of Hands and Anointing with the Holy Eucharist every
Tues. @ 6pm.
Every Fifth Sunday will be Laying on of Hands and Anointing for healing with the Holy Eucharist @ 10am.
Service of Blessing the Animals - A Celebration Of Those Pets That Bring So Much To Our Lives.
