Artist Showcase

Holy Comforter has a number of artist members who use their art to enhance our worship and the life of the community. There is an informal makers’ gathering on Tuesday mornings from 10:00-12:00 called UFO (Unfinished Objects), where all are welcome to bring projects and work together. From time to time, we convene a community art project, where parishioners of all ages and abilities contribute to an art piece. In Advent 2024 we collaborated to build life-size Nativity figures out of holiday catalog paper and cardboard, turning the commercialization of Christmas into sacred art. The collages were installed in the high altar area through the Epiphany season. They will be augmented and reused in a different way in 2025. Plans are underway for a new project to be revealed in Easter 2026, so stay tuned!
