Worship
Worship of God in the name of our Savior Jesus is the anchor of our congregational life. Worship nourishes and strengthens us to go out into the world to live the promises we made at our baptism. We are renewed weekly by the sacrament of Holy Eucharist to live as faithful Christians in daily life.
We celebrate the Holy Eucharist every Sunday at 10:00. The service includes three scripture readings, a Children’s Sermon followed by an engaging Sermon which usually touches on themes of justice and peacemaking, prayers for the needs of the community and the world, joyful music, and occasional surprises. Services are live-streamed and later posted on YouTube and Facebook. Sunday services are followed by Connections, a time of refreshments and conversation in the parish house.
We worship every Wednesday at 11:45 with Centering Prayer followed by Holy Eucharist.
We worship on Holy Days throughout the year, including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Eve, and other occasions.
Our worship is strengthened by a range of life-giving worship ministries:
Readers read the Old Testament and New Testament scriptures that are appointed in the Revised Common Lectionary.
Intercessors lead the Prayers of the People.
Eucharistic Ministers assist in serving the bread and wine of Communion.
Acolytes carry the cross and torches in processions and provide other worship functions.
Ushers support worshippers as they arrive for worship and present the offerings of the people at the altar.
Altar Guild prepares the altar for every service and lovingly cares for the vessels, linens, and other holy things.
Bread Bakers make a loaf of homemade bread for each Sunday and Holy Day Eucharist services.
Live Streaming Directors stream and record Sunday and Holy Day services, then post them on YouTube and Facebook.
